Interlakes International School

The Friends of Interlakes Foundation is the shareholder of Interlakes International School. The school is located in the city of Debre Zeit (Bishoftu) and has approximately 700 students and 60 employees.

Over the years, the school has transformed from a “regular” school with Ethiopian and international children into a school with a high-quality education, especially in the English language. The Cambridge license, which the school has had since 2023, helps to further optimize education.

The goal is to expand the school from a school up to grade 8 (14-year-old students) to a school that prepares for university (grade 12, 18-year-old students).

The quality improvement implemented requires a higher financial contribution from the parents. As a result, in addition to the sponsored children, the school is mainly attended by children from the middle and upper classes. The education of these children also makes a significant contribution to the development of the country.
